Dogs & cats

Our dogs and cats are not just loyal companions: they keep everyone in a good mood, join in with the daily chores and are always happy to be stroked by our guests!

Cows & calves

Our farm is home to around 10 cows of the rare Pustertaler Sprinzen breed. We keep suckler cows, which means our calves grow up naturally with their mothers, just as it should be.

Horses & foals

Our horses are gentle, friendly animals that enrich life on our farm. They enjoy the peace and quiet and are always happy about visitors and a stroke! In 2025 we welcomed our first foal.

How our animals live

Natural. Animal-friendly. Genuine.

Animal-friendly husbandry

Our animals have plenty of space to roam on meadows and steep slopes, close to nature and free from stress.

Preserving old breeds

We breed the endangered Pustertaler Sprinzen, a matter close to our hearts.

Naturally fed

Our animals get the best feed straight from the farm: grass, hay and herbs, all gathered by hand.

Stress-free slaughter

Slaughter takes place right here on the farm, in familiar surroundings. This keeps stress for the animals to a minimum.

Suckler cow farming

The calves stay with their mothers for about 6 months, completely naturally, just as it has always been.

Animal welfare from the heart

From a rescued pony to a street dog, many animals have found a new, loving home with us.

Cows on the alpine pasture in summer

Summer on the alpine pasture

Our cows, calves, horses and foals spend the summer from June to September on the alpine pasture, where they enjoy the fresh mountain air and lush meadows. We visit them there from time to time, and anyone who likes is welcome to join us!

From the Einsiedlgut to a family farm

Our farm, once known as the “Einsiedlgut”, looks back on a long history. We have been welcoming guests since 1978, at first with bed and breakfast rooms run by mother-in-law Irma and grandmother Marianne. In 2007 we took over the farm, converted the rooms into four holiday apartments and have kept developing them ever since.
